Lu-177
Technology

Colibri Isotopes Lu-177 nca production technology is a solution that ensures sustainability, scalability and efficiency.

U.S. Pat. No. 11,894,156, U.S. Pat. No. 12,315,650.

Please see video with a deeper explanation of technology principles.

Advantages

Sustainability

  • High and low thermal neutron flux reactors can be used (decrease of irradiation costs and much larger availability of irradiation capacities)

Scalability

  • Yb-176 targets of any size can be processed (0.5 – 50 g)
  • No need to set up new production lines as the same ones can be used for targets of different sizes

Economic Efficiency

  • < 5% of Yb-176 losses per cycle
  • easy Yb-176 recycling for multiple use
  • < 300 ml of radioactive waste and no need to recycle liquid substrate to recover Yb-176 for further irradiation
  • only 6 g of resins is required for chromatographic purification step

R&D Collaboration

Our R&D team brings together in-house talented and experienced scientists as well as leading external experts. Together, they continuously develop new methods and technologies to make isotope production faster, more reliable, and capable of achieving higher output yields. We are actively seeking long-term R&D collaborations in different fields of medical isotope production.

Colibri’s key technology areas include:

  • Ion sources
  • High-power target stations (up to 100 kW)
  • Electromagnetic optics
  • Target fabrication technologies
  • Sublimation-based separation technologies
  • Chromatography-based separation technologies
  • Mass separation technologies
  • Laser systems
  • Laser ionization

Licensing & Irradiation Services

Licensing

Colibri offers licensing opportunities to collaborators and pharmaceutical companies seeking to bring isotope production in-house and integrate it into their supply chains.

Our patented Lu-177 n.c.a. production technology is available for licensing. It enables time- and cost-efficient production of high-purity Lu-177 n.c.a. Tb-161 separation module is in development, expanding our technology portfolio and creating potential for future licensing opportunities.

Irradiation

Colibri is seeking beam time at cyclotron and linear accelerator facilities capable of delivering proton beams of 70 MeV and above. If you operate such a facility and offer irradiation services, we welcome the opportunity to discuss a potential collaboration.
